The gite is in the centre of the village of Valbonnais in the Parc National des Ecrins 15 minutes from the Route Napoleon at La Mure. The gîte is ideally situated for the village amenities and all the activities in the region. The small supermarket is less than 200 metres from the gîte. Valbonnais is a pretty rural village surrounded by 360º of mountains and there are plenty of marked paths and walks which you can access straightaway from the village or for the more adventurous there are numerous hikes into the mountains and summits to reach. The lake at Valbonnais is only 900m away for swimming, relaxation, fishing and walking.
Our gite is newly renovated and tastefully furnished and decorated in keeping with the area and is attached to our house but all accommodation and outside amenities are separate but of course we will be on hand for any assistance and information you might need.
There are numerous walks straight from your holiday home with splendid views of the mountains, or after a walk up the mountain, spectacular views looking back down onto the village and the Plan d’Eau (lake). It’s a short drive to Entraigues where you’ll find the Maison du Parc des Ecrins. Here you can obtain information about this beautiful National Park and arrange to join in organised nature walks during the summer. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed in the centre of the Parc des Ecrins to protect the wildlife, where you can encounter nature at its best in tranquillity and solitude with opportunities for sighting chamois, bouquetins and marmottes (particularly if you’re an early bird).
